Ingredients

Fish ( hilsa ) : - 4 pcs

Boiled potato : - 1 medium ( cut in square size )

Onion : - 1 (finelly chopped )

Onion, ginger & garlic paste :- 2tsp

Tomato :- 1 ( finelly chopped )

Turmeric powder :- 1 tsp

Red chilli powder : - 1 tsp

Coriander powder :- 1 tsp

Mustard oil :- 2 tbsp

Cumin seeds :- 1 tsp

Whole dry red chilli : - 2

Garam masala :- ½ tsp

Salt to taste

Methods

Properly clean the fish. Remove any excess water. Marinate fish for 15 mins with ½ tsp turmeric powder, ½ tsp salt.

Heat a pan, pour in 1 tbsp of oil and sallow fry the fish from both the sides until they turn slightly brown. Fry all the fishes, then take off and keep aside.

In the same pan put rest of the oil and heat it,put cumin seed ,let them crackle.

Add onion let them fry for a mins till it turns its colour to brown. Now add onion,ginger garlic paste,stir it and cook for 2-3 min till oil separates from the masala.

Put turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander power and sitr. Now add chopped tomato. Let them cook for few more mins.

Now add boiled potato, mix well in masala. Add water as much as required gravy, let them boil for 2-3 mins. Add fried fish in the gravy, cover the pan & simmer the gas for another 2-3 mins.

Finally add garam masala. Garnish with red chilli and oinion.

Serve hot with steamed rice.
