Ingredients

Fish (rohu) :- 8 pcs ( cut into ½ inch thick slice )

Mustard oil :- 3 tbsp

Mustard seed paste : - 2tbsp

Onion :- 1 medium

Ginger garlic paste : - 1 tbsp

Boiled potato: - 1 (cut into pieces)

Green chilli :- 2

Tomato : - 2 medium

Cumin :-1 tsp

Turmeric powder :- 1 ½ tsp

Chilli powder : - 1 tsp

Coriander powder : - 1 tsp

Lime juice / vinegar :- ½ tsp

Salt to taste

Methods

(Mustard seeds paste :- soak mustard seeds ½ a cup in water for an hour.grind the soaked mustared seeds with 6-7 garlics cloves & 1 green chilli in mixter to a smooth and creamy paste)

Properly clean the fish. Remove any excess water.

Marinate fish for 15 mins with ½ tsp turmeric powder, ½ tsp salt and lime juice.

Heat a pan, pour in 1 tbsp of oil and sallow fry the fish from both the sides until they turn slightly brown. Fry all the fishes, then take off and keep aside.

In another pan pour 2 tsbp of oil and let it heat properly.

Put 1 tsp cumin & let them crackle. Add chopped onion, fry till golden brown. Mix 1tsp of ginger garlic paste and 1 green chilli, stir for a min.

Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, corainder powder & stir for another a min. now add chopped tomato and cook till the tomato totally mix with the masala.

Put 2tbsp of mustard paste, cook them for 2-3 mins.

Once oils starts separating from masal, put boiled potato.

Pour water depending on how much curry you want. Add salt as needed.bring to boil.

Add the pieces of fish to it, let the water boil again, reduce the flame to low and let it simmer for 5-7 mins.

Garnish with slit green chilli and coriander leaves.

Serve hot with steamed rice.
