Ingredients

Potatoes :- 2 -3 large

Besan (chickpea flour) :- 75-100 gms

Rice Flour :- 1tbsp

Onion :- 1 chopped

Curry Leaves :- 1 sprig [chopped]

Red Chilli Powder :- 1 tsp

Turmeric Powder :- 1/2 tsp

Cumin seeds :- ½ tsp

Cooking Soda :- 1/4 tsp

Chaat masala :- 1tsp

Salt to taste

Oil – To deep fry

Water - 200 ml

Methods

Peel, wash and dice potatoes into small cubes around 1cm each.

Make a thick batter with water, flours, red chilli powder, cumin, turmeric, salt and cooking soda. Cover and keep aside for about 20 minutes.

Now add diced potato, onion and curry leaves.

Take a deep frying pan and pour oil. Let the oil heat for a while.

By using hand, scoop around 4-5 pieces of potato for one pakora and deep fry.

Fry as many slices as will float on the surface of the oil without touching.

Fry on both sides until reddish gray and crisp. Pakoras will take about 4 to 5 minutes to cook.

Now take them out on a plate and prepare more pakoras from the mixture.

Aloo Pakoras are ready.

Sprinkle chaat masala above all pakodas.

Serve hot with ketchup, green chutney or just with hot tea/coffee.
